No one is ever truly complete without a relationship.
What is a relationship?
In simple words, a relationship is a state of being connected either with the self or another.
Being in a relationship doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be in a relationship with someone, building a relationship with yourself should be the top priority because if you are miserable alone, your partner will be miserable being with you. So you must first love yourself before loving others.
I have always had this ideology that if they love you, they will stay no matter what but with experiences, I have realized that… it all starts within.
You can’t expect what you can’t give.
Ask yourself this “ what if you lose people tomorrow, how will I survive me”.
Here, are 6 secrets to a strong relationship…
1. Active Listening:
A lot of us listen to reply but that is not active listening. Active listening is listening to understand the perspective of the speaker and know how you can smooth is with your opinions.
2. Love your parent and love their parent:
If you love someone, you must love everything important to that person so as yourself… if you say you love yourself then you must accept your flaws because that is what makes the drama of life… Lol 😆.
3. Practice vulnerability:
Be open and sincere to your partner with everything.
4. Physical affection:
Physical affection builds closeness… Hugs, kisses, etc. It doesn’t necessarily mean having sex. But showing them they matter and you appreciate their body.
5. Relationship meetings:
Having relationship meetings create room for corrections. It’s a review of what has been working for us and not. Write it down too… It’s a powerful exercise.
The meeting should be centered on you two nothing random.
6. Practice playfulness:
Find a way to species your relationship other than looking for a fault that will break you guys.
